A new technology for precise measurement: FBG sensors

We have carried our knowledge and experience on laser photonics field to fiber sensor technologies, FBG (Fiber Bragg Grating) sensors specifically under our sub-brand EON Photonics.

FBG sensors are applicable to wide range of industries from aerospace and defense to composite material manufacturing due to its light weight, extremely narrow thickness, durability and many other advantages. Due to its light weight, compact, flexible and durable structure, FBG sensors can be used in diversified fields. As a Hi-Tech product FBG sensors take over the place of the conventional sensors that apply to several industries.

Composite

FBG sensors produces by EON allow ones to measure various parameters such like strain, temperature, pressure, force, vibration and acceleration with high resolution by simply embedding the sensors within the layers of the composite material or sticking on the surface.

By using FBG sensors, it is possible to get data from different parameters over the same fiber optical cable simultaneously. Besides, it is also possible to use FBG sensors at fields having high magnetic field and radio frequencies in safe. Due to its light weight, compact, flexible and durable structure, FBG sensors can be used in diversified fields such as aerospace, defense, oil & gas and energy industries in which composite materials are used mostly.

Wind Turbine

This sensing system provides the structural health monitoring of the propellers, instant control and observation of the operating status. By simply embedding the glass-fiber compatible EON Photonics FBG sensors those are as thin as a human hair, ones will be eligible to monitor every single change within the composite blades. It is the best way for wind turbine real-time structural health monitoring.

Aerospace

The successful application of FBG sensors to aerospace requires the sensors to provide reliable and accurate information about the condition of the structure and to reduce economic losses caused by unproductive downtimes. At this moment, FBG sensors and FBG based systems are the most appropriate solution to most airplanes, aircraft and helicopter needs.

Transportation

It is used for structural health monitoring in highways, bridges, tunnels, train and railway to determine when maintenance is compulsory.

Marine

FBG sensors in submarines and ships used for structural health, load and fatigue behavior monitoring at specific points in the structure.

Oil & Gas

FBGs can be safely used in various energy fields such as Oil platforms, Oil Wells, Pipelines, Nuclear Reactors and Generators. The reason is that FBGs are immune to electromagnetic fields and high radio frequency consisting fields.
